New designs for harbour park under consideration
In an update about works at the harbour at last Tuesday’s meeting of Greystones Municipal District, District Administrator Myra Porter said that the main update is that the Part 8 for new designs for the park area is under consideration.
The plans include alterations to previously approved Terrace No 12, and redesign of the previously approved public park at Rathdown Upper and Rathdown Lower and north beach.
There is a decrease proposed of three units in the number of residential units approved.
Wicklow County Council made the application earlier this month.
The plans are available on wicklow.ie and also at council buildings in Greystones and Wicklow.
Submissions can be made until May 15.
Cathaoirleach of Greystones Municipal District, Derek Mitchell said that he would like to see a timeline of the phases of the works.
‘It’s two to three years of work,’ he said. ‘It would be useful to have an outline of the phases.’
Cllr Mitchell said that he has sought this on three occasions.
Cllr Grainne McLoughlin asked for clarification on who exactly is responsible for management of the plaza, including keeping it clean and tidy.
She said that, in her opinion, it would be Sisk, but she has been hearing that it is the council.
‘I would like confirmation of that,’ said Cllr McLoughlin.
