Planned bike park boards ‘hideous’

Car-shaped boards to mark off a planned bike parking area in the town of Greystones were not well received at last week’s meeting of Greystones Municipal District.

The proposed boards were within a report of works circulated to the members.

The idea behind them is that they illustrate that ten bikes can be parked instead of one car.

Cllr Nicola Lawless described them as ‘ hideous’.

Cllr Jennifer Whitmore said that there is already too much street furniture on Church Road and they would make the place more cluttered. ‘I really don’t like them,’ she said.

‘I think it’s awful and the people will hate it,’ said Cllr Grainne McLoughlin.
