Blade Runner 2049 screening at film club

Greystones Film Club’s programme continues this Friday with a screening of Blade Runner 2049.

The film will be on at 8 p.m. in Whale Theatre alongside Ashford filmmaker Sean Treacy’s festival hit, Brother.

On Sunday, May 20, at 6 p.m., as part of the Greystones Kids Film Club, it’s a 30th Anniversar­y outing for Studio Ghibli’s My Neighbour Totoro, in tribute to the Japanese animation giant’s co-founder, Isao Takahata, who passed away in April.

Another late, great filmmaker, Milos Forman, is remembered with a screening of One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest on Wednesday, April 23, at 8 p.m.

On Friday, June 1, the IFTA-winning actor and writer John Connors (Love/Hate, Cardboard Gangsters) will be present for My Favourite Things, the Dublin actor discussing his favourite book and album, and then revealing his favourite film before joining the audience in its screening.

Finally, the monthly New Cinema screening for June will be Irish filmmaker Aisling Walsh’s touching true-life biopic, Maudie, on Wednesday, June 20.
