Greystones Cancer Support group walk raises €2,000
FRIENDS and supporters of Greystones Cancer Support took to the streets on the May bank holiday Sunday to raise money for the group.
Thankfully, the Irish weather behaved and the sun shone down on the fundraising walk, helping to ensure that it was wonderful event which everyone enjoyed. Greystones Cancer Support raised approximately €2,000, although more funds will most likely come in.
Victor Evans led the charge, dressed as The Mad Hatter for the occasion. Walkers made their way along the seafront and through the town.
Sonia Walsh, Chairperson of Greystones Cancer Support, has extended a huge thank you to everyone who got involved.
‘It was a great success and we are delighted that it went so well on the day,’ she said.
Meanwhile, registration is still open for the women’s mini marathon, and Greystones Cancer Support is urging supporters to participate on their behalf. Go to vhiwomensminimarathon. ie to sign up.
