AS PART of the Kil­dare Wick­low Ed­u­ca­tion and Train­ing Board, Gle­nart Col­lege has been recog­nised as a na­tional cen­tre of ex­cel­lence for over the last decade and many grad­u­ates have pro­gressed on to Diploma and De­gree cour­ses in their cho­sen fields through the Higher Ed­u­ca­tion Links Pro­gramme as part of the CAO [Cen­tral Ap­pli­ca­tions of­fice] sys­tem.

Gle­nart Col­lege have in­cluded a new com­po­nent in the Early Child­hood Care and Ed­u­ca­tion Award. This is in re­sponse to the chang­ing govern­ment poli­cies. With the an­nounce­ment of fund­ing for new Spe­cial Needs As­sis­tant jobs at pri­mary school level. Also at Early Years the is­sue of “Di­ver­sity, Equal­ity and In­clu­sion Char­ter and Guide­lines for Early Child­hood Care and Ed­u­ca­tion” re­quires that staff in preschools and crèches need spe­cialised train­ing.

The Beauty Ther­apy Course, cov­ers all as­pects of fa­cial and body ther­apy in­clud­ing make-up artistry and all fa­cial and body electrics. This course is recog­nised for the high qual­ity of train­ing that stu­dents re­ceive and grad­u­ates are sought after is this grow­ing in­dus­try. The course also hosts the very lat­est in beauty treat­ments so all the stu­dents have the most up to date skill set pos­si­ble.

The Of­fice Ad­min­is­tra­tion course, our long­est run­ning course, in­cor­po­rates Le­gal Prac­tices and Pro­ce­dures, In­for­ma­tion and Ad­min­is­tra­tion, Word Pro­cess­ing, Work Ex­pe­ri­ence, Start Your Own Busi­ness, Book Keep­ing, Text Pro­duc­tion, Data­base, Spread­sheets, Com­mu­ni­ca­tions:

The vast ma­jor­ity of our Post Leav­ing Cer­tifi­cate grad­u­ates have se­cured em­ploy­ment in ar­eas such as Beauty Sa­lons, Ho­tel Spas –Beauty Ther­apy; Playschools, Créches, Montes­sori cen­tres – Child­care; Gen­eral/Solic­i­tors/Med­i­cal Of­fices, Ho­tel Re­cep­tion­ists, County Coun­cils – Busi­ness & Ad­min­is­tra­tion Course.

The cen­tre on the Boghall Road in Bray opens its doors every Wed­nes­day from 11.00am –to 1.00pm and peo­ple are in­vited to come along to meet cur­rent stu­dents and in­struc­tors to learn more about their train­ing cour­ses. It’s a great op­por­tu­nity to see first-hand what’s in­volved in the cour­ses and to see the ad­di­tional sup­ports that are on of­fer such as ed­u­ca­tion sup­ports, psy­chol­o­gist, and peer sup­port to help you to a new start!

Vo­ca­tional Skills Foun­da­tion which leads to a QQI Level 3 in Em­ploy­a­bil­ity Skills,

Em­ployer Based Train­ing, which is a job seek­ing course, which leads to a QQI Level 4 in Em­ploy­ment Skills

IT and Busi­ness Ad­min­is­tra­tion which leads to a QQI Level 5 in In­for­ma­tion Pro­cess­ing. All of the cour­ses of­fer work place­ment.
