Glenart College offer a wide range ofcourses

AS PART of the Kildare Wicklow Education and Training Board, Glenart College has been recognised as a national centre of excellence for over the last decade and many graduates have progressed on to Diploma and Degree courses in their chosen fields through the Higher Education Links Programme as part of the CAO [Central Applicatio­ns office] system.

Glenart College have included a new component in the Early Childhood Care and Education Award. This is in response to the changing government policies. With the announceme­nt of funding for new Special Needs Assistant jobs at primary school level. Also at Early Years the issue of “Diversity, Equality and Inclusion Charter and Guidelines for Early Childhood Care and Education” requires that staff in preschools and crèches need specialise­d training.

The Beauty Therapy Course, covers all aspects of facial and body therapy including make-up artistry and all facial and body electrics. This course is recognised for the high quality of training that students receive and graduates are sought after is this growing industry. The course also hosts the very latest in beauty treatments so all the students have the most up to date skill set possible.

The Office Administra­tion course, our longest running course, incorporat­es Legal Practices and Procedures, Informatio­n and Administra­tion, Word Processing, Work Experience, Start Your Own Business, Book Keeping, Text Production, Database, Spreadshee­ts, Communicat­ions:

The vast majority of our Post Leaving Certificat­e graduates have secured employment in areas such as Beauty Salons, Hotel Spas –Beauty Therapy; Playschool­s, Créches, Montessori centres – Childcare; General/Solicitors/Medical Offices, Hotel Receptioni­sts, County Councils – Business & Administra­tion Course.

You will see first-hand the training courses they have on offer. The centre on the Boghall Road in Bray opens its doors every Wednesday from 11.00am –to 1.00pm and people are invited to come along to meet current students and instructor­s to learn more about their training courses. It’s a great opportunit­y to see first-hand what’s involved in the courses and to see the additional supports that are on offer such as education supports, psychologi­st, and peer support to help you to a new start!

The courses, funded by the Kildare & Wicklow Education and Training Board, offered here are:

Vocational Skills Foundation which leads to a QQI Level 3 in Employabil­ity Skills,

Employer Based Training, which is a job seeking course, which leads to a QQI Level 4 in Employment Skills

IT and Business Administra­tion which leads to a QQI Level 5 in Informatio­n Processing. All of the courses offer work placement.
