Delgany ICA hosts tea day

THE cups were clink­ing as Delgany ICA Guild mem­bers hosted an Alzheimer’s ‘ Tea Day’ re­cently at the Methodist Hall in Grey­stones.

The ladies en­joyed tea or cof­fee and cake, as well as the chance to catch up with each other and sup­port a wor­thy cause. The raf­fle was also well-sup­ported both in terms of prizes do­nated and ticket sales.

Tea Day is a na­tional day of cel­e­bra­tion and fundrais­ing that hon­ours peo­ple af­fected by Alzheimer’s and De­men­tia.

The ini­tia­tive is the so­ci­ety’s sin­gle big­gest fundrais­ing event of the year, with hosts all over the coun­try hold­ing par­ties to raise money for their ser­vices.

Funds raised will go towards day care cen­tres, sup­port groups, overnight respite, home care and more. For every €25 raised, the Alzheimer So­ci­ety can pro­vide an ex­tra hour of home care.
