they make these decisions with no support from the country they call home.

Who are these women who would supposedly access abortion services on a whim and with so little considerat­ion for the magnitude of such a decision? Do you know them? Because I certainly don’t.

I do know compassion­ate and courageous Irish women who would never make this decision lightly.

We know Irish women. I am an Irish woman. I know where we’ve come from and I know where we’re going. And on May 25, I will vote for these women – for those who have come before us and for those who will follow.

I will vote for the more the than 170,000 Irish women who have travelled as medical refugees since 1980 to access abortion services outside this jurisdicti­on, because our laws would not allow us to take care of them in their worst days.

I will vote for Irish women and I will vote yes.
