White Feather Theatre Company presents ‘The Secret Fall of Constance Wilde’ – a play about the untold story of Oscar Wilde’s wife and mother of his children.

The play will be on at Whale Theatre on Saturday, June 30.

Set in a mysterious world that intertwine­s facts and fiction, it explores the shifting dynamic of the relationsh­ip between Constance, Oscar and his lover Lord Alfred Douglas and sheds light on the wife that few knew existed.

Battling with her own inner demons and secrets from her past, it examines the woman central to the life of the prolific writer Oscar. His catastroph­ic downfall was her fall and yet, she died unnoticed by the world.

Incorporat­ing one of the most notorious legal cases that captivated England and the literary world, Kilroy’s play inquires into the cost of the characters’ conduct, Oscar’s hopes for salvation and Constance’s valiant effort to find redemption.

The play stars Olga Conway as Constance, Rónán P. Byrne as Oscar and Ryan O’ Donnell as Douglas and is directed by Heather Hadrill. Tickets are: 18/15euro.
