Blessington have too much firepower for Chraobh Abhann
BLESSINGTON CC COLÁISTE CHR ABHANN 5-11 2-2
A very skilful Blessington CC side proved too strong for Chraobh Abhann in Kilcoole on Wednesday to take the girls Junior football ‘B’ championship.
A goal by Anna Vas in the fifth minute settled the visitors and they went on to score some fine first half points.
Chraobh Abhann set up many attacks also with Kerryann Hamilton to the fore but they lacked finishing power in attack. At half time Blessington led by 2-8 to 1-2.
The second half proceeded along the same lines with Craobh Abhann working hard but Blessington registering the majority of scores.
Lucy Rooney did find the net for the Kilcoole school after a prolonged attack but it was not enough to influence the result.
Anna Vas and Sara Bohan were very prominent for the winners with Ellie McKeever and Kayleigh Mcguire also doing well. Kerryann Hamilton did well for Chraobh Abhann as well as Lucy Rooney, Taylor Brandon and Katelyn O’Toole.
