Charlie O’Leary Cup

St Peter’s FC were on cloud nine as they eased into the last four of the Charlie O’Leary Cup with a 9-0 demolition of Park Orient in their quarter-final tie.

Chad Ryan scored four goals for the Bray side, while Killian O’Carroll and Ross O’Brien both added doubles and Jake Kane also chipped in with a goal.

Tallaght City also qualified for the semi-finals, courtesy of a 4-1 win over Templeogue United.

Andy McEvoy Premier 1

Ashford Rovers have one hand on the Andy McEvoy Premier 1 title after overcoming Newtown United 5-3 in the clash of the titans on Sunday (see focus match).

Rovers are now just one positive result away from getting over the line, having also picked up a win last Wednesday evening, when they beat Carnew 2-0 at the Back Alley, with goals from Robbie Eyre and Danny Byrne.

The Magpies saw off Arklow Celtic 8-0 in their midweek game, with Evan Moran scoring a double and Dessie Waters, Mark Fitzsimons, Ryan Cahill, Dean Odlum, Dillon Carthy and Dean Gahan adding a goal apiece.

Carnew AFC overwhelme­d Park Orient 7-2 on Sunday, with Cillian Gilligan and JJ McCrea both scor- ing hat-tricks and Conal McCrea grabbing their other goal.

Pat O’Toole Division 1B

Glencormac edged ever-closer to the Pat O’Toole Division 1B title with two wins in the past week.

Last Wednesday evening they beat Greystones United 4-1, with Nathan Watters and Sam Kerr both bagging doubles and they followed it up with a 3-0 win away to Knockmitte­n United on Sunday.

The Glens were 1-0 up at the break thanks to a Dean McCormack strike and Ian Devlin and Nathan Watters added to their tally late on.

Arklow United and Bohs Supporters Club are still in the hunt after both picked up three points.

United were handed a walkover from Greystones, while Bohs beat Ashford Rovers 8-1.

Rovers were actually ahead at half-time thanks to a Paul Duffy strike, but the Dubliners took full control after the interval.

Division 3

Arklow United wrapped up the Division 3 title on Sunday with a 1-0 win over Wicklow Town (see focus match).

Conary United have their eyes on the runners-up spot and they edged out Carnew AFC 3-2 with goals from Stephen Roche, Seán Fanning and Niall McCauley, while Paddy Adair got both goals for Carnew.

Craig Browne, Wesley O’Toole and John Andrew Kinsella got the goals for Dearg Celtic in their 3-2 win over Aughrim Rangers.

Avonmore FC and Shamrock Celtic shared the spoils after a 1-1 draw last week, with Ryan Bolton scoring for the former and Kevin Murray replying for Celtic.

Youths Shield A

Avonmore fought back from 3-1 down to grab two late goals that earned them a share of the spoils with Arklow United in their Youths Shield A clash at Ferndale Park on Friday evening.

The visitors held a 1-0 advantage at the interval through Ross Ward but United looked to have taken control when goals from Ryan Doyle, Craig Keegan and Christian Roche gave them a twogoal advantage with just over ten minutes to go.

However, Mark Cullen plundered two goals in the last five minutes to ensure Avonmore picked up a point.

Youths Shield B

Wicklow Rovers ‘A’ overcame the club’s B side 3-1 in the Youth Shield, with Gary O’Connor, David O’Connor and Harrison Okungbowa scoring for the A team and Nathan Wynne replying.
