Glencormac United Seniors continued their push for the Division 1B Title with two wins last week. They travelled midweek to Greystones United and came away 4-2 winners with Sam Kerr and Nay Watters getting two each. Then on Sunday, they travelled to Clondalkin and came away with a 3-0 win. This was a tough battle and the Glens led 1-0 going into the 81st minute thanks to Dean McCormack’s first half strike but Ian Devlin and Nay waters cool finishes saw all three points come home to Kilmacanogue. Two Games left in the league now, two wins will guarantee the title and promotion to the Premier.

However, before all that there is a matter of the Thomas Scott Divisional 1B Cup to be sorted out. The Glens face second placed Arklow United in Rathdrum (Pitch just up past St Coleman’s Hospital) at 4.30 p.m. this Saturday (26th) and they appeal for your support to help bring the cup back to the village.

The under-14s faced a tough 1stt leg tie away to Rathnew in their cup last Sunday and carry a 1-4 deficit into the second leg. Rathnew led 4-0 at one stage but Adam Dutton’s late strike gave them some hope for the return leg. Come on lads, you can do it.

In other action, Roundwood got the better of our under-eights and under-11s on Sunday but the Glens put up brave battles in both encounters.
