FITNESS TRANSFORMATION

Strength and Conditioning class is on Wednesday at 7 p.m. New members are always welcome - contact Colly Yeoman at 087 9024045.

TIDY TOWNS

Our Tidy Towns application is almost ready for submission, so now we just need the help of a few handy Newcastlers to get the village looking its best ahead of the arrival of the judges. Over the next few Monday evenings between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m., meeting at the Castle Inn, any help that could be given would be invaluable.

Every year Newcastle’s performance in the Tidy Towns competition has improved. We believe that our entry and voluntary efforts enhances awareness of this special place, and the pride we all take in it. Newcastle is a very special village. Let’s all work towards making it an even lovelier place to live. We look forward to seeing you on the streets.

BADMINTON

Badminton takes place every Tuesday at 8.3oPM in the community centre. New members are always welcome - it is a great way to keep fit.

COUNTRY MARKET

The North Wicklow country market takes place in the community centre every Saturday from 10.30 a.m. till 12.30 p.m.

BIRDWATCH

Since March 10 Birdwatch Ireland have taken up residence in Newcastle Community Centre in Co. Wicklow making an information point and visitor centre available to local wildlife enthusiasts and visitors to the nearby East Coast Nature Reserve (ECNR). Each Saturday morning over the course of the past few weeks, the new BirdWatch Ireland visitor centre has coincided with the North Wicklow Country Market. It is hoped the centre will continue to run throughout the summer months and friendly staff will be on hand to share sightings and information about the birds and wildlife encountered on the ECNR.

So drop in on Saturday mornings on your way to or from ECNR for a chat and to share your sightings and stories, after which you could have a stroll around the North Wicklow Country Market and indulge in the healthy local produce and tasty treats, ideal for hungry birdwatchers. We’ll be there from 10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.

BirdWatch Ireland are very thankful to the residents of Newcastle and the North Wicklow Country Market organisers for their ongoing support in this new venture.
