AS TIME GOES BY, SUSIE WILL PERFORM IN BRAY
SINGER Susie Kennedy will perform at Mermaid Arts Centre on Friday, June 1, with her show ‘As Time Goes By’.
Susie explores through song and story, the ups and downs, the hilarity and challenges of being ‘an older woman’.
She creates thoughtful, moving and sometimes hilarious theatre as she looks at the way people try to stay young, how memory and the figure go and how excitement can come through on-line dating for the over 65’s. The show features new and original songs as well as many old favourites from Sophie Tucker and Ella Fitzgerald.
The irrepressible singer and performer, has charmed audiences over many years with her hugely successful musical plays and jazz/ blues reviews such as the unforgettable You Can’t Deep Freeze a Red Hot Momma and many more.
Her exuberant performances of the saucy songs of the great Sophie Tucker have endeared her to the public and set her apart as a unique performer. Susie, who comes from Chicago, has an MA in modern drama and has worked in Dublin for the past 25 years as an actor, singer, director and teacher. She is an assistant lecturer in drama at DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama.
