Date for your Diary – June 24: We will celebrate our annual Feast Day on Sunday, June 24, with a special Mass at 11 a.m. Further details to follow in the coming weeks but we can look forward to Strawberries and Cream and Ice-cream and lots of music on the day.
Evening Mass: There will be 7 p.m. evening Mass today (Wednesday) and tomorrow (Thursday). On Friday a liturgy will replace the 7 p.m. Mass.
Exam Mass: A special Mass for students studying for the junior and Leaving Certificate Exams will be held this Sunday at 6 p.m.
Child Protection Officers: We have two designated Child Protection Officers here in Holy Redeemer. They are – Eamonn Burgess and Niamh Grist. If you need to speak with one of them you will find their numbers in the church Porch or by calling in to the sacristy after Mass.

St Brigid Mary, RIP Marist Sister: The First Anniversary Mass in remembrance of Sr. Brigid Mary, Marist Sister, will take place on Friday, June 8, at 7 p.m. This Mass will also give us a chance to welcome back to St Fergal’s, Sr. Brigid Mary’s Family and two members of the Marist Sisters, Sr. Aideen and Sr. Donal, who are looking forward to meeting all their old friends again.
Cemetery Sunday: Takes place on Sunday, June 17, at 2.30 p.m. in Springfield Cemetery with a Mass of remembrance and blessing of graves.
Triduum in honour of St Anthony: A Triduum in honour of St Anthony will be held at St Fergal’s Church, Ballywaltrim, on Monday, June 11, Tuesday, June 12, and Wednesday, June 13, The feast of St Anthony of Padua takes place on Wednesday, June 13. The Triduum will be conducted by Fr Larry Behan. Mass will take place at 9.30 a.m. and 7.30 p.m. each day. Confessions will be available after Masses. Peru Loreto Mission: A Jewellery Sale will be held on Sunday, June 10, after the 10.30 a.m. Mass in aid of the Loreto Mission in Peru. There will be a selection of beautiful handcrafted jewellery made by the women in their workshop. Your support is greatly appreciated.
Parish Pilgrimage to Lourdes: Bookings for our Parish Pilgrimage to Lourdes are now being taken in the Villa Pacis (weekdays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.).
Church gate collection: The church gate collection this weekend is in aid of our local conference of St Vincent de Paul. The May collection amounted to €1,003. Thank you for your continued support.
The new European Data Protection Law: The General Data Protection Regulation (‘GDPR’), was introduced last Friday. This new law applies to any organisation, including our parish that manages and processes people’s personal information. We are now working on ways of ensuring that what we do with your information is compliant with this new law. It is a work in progress and over the next few months we will keep you informed through the parish website and in the newsletter as policies are put in place. If you have any questions about this please do not hesitate to contact the parish office.
Our Lady Queen of Peace summer Project 2018: Our very popular summer project will take place again this July in the Villa Pacis under the supervision of Anne Nolan. Week 1: July 2 to July 6 ; Week 2: July 9 to July 13. Open to children aged eight to 14 years of age. €35 per child per week. QOP YOUTH CLUB
The Queen of Peace Adventure Youth Club has vacancies for lots more members. Their programme includes over 100 events during the year. Main items on now are water sports, survival training activities, and visits to places of historical and cultural interests. To join call to the club boathouse on Bray Seafront beside the Coffee Dock and the Rowing Club on any Tuesday between 5.30 and 6.30 p.m.
DIVING CLUB
Bray Divers are heading for Hook Head in County Wexford for the holiday weekend where they will be training and preparing for some deep qualifying dives at St John’s point in Donegal later during the month. The club is increasing the membership at present by recruiting up to 20 new trainees. Until this is achieved the club remains the most financial economical Irish club. Membership, lectures, pool training, and sea training fee is €375. For more details call Albert at 087 6756439, and you could be a diver within a few short weeks.

The next event of interest for members for the Bray Cualann Historical Society, the local history society for Bray and North Wicklow, is tonight’s (Wednesday 6 p.m. talk by Dr Patricia McCarthy on ‘Below stairs in the 18th century Big House’ in Dundrum Library, Churchtown Road Upper, Dundum, Co. Dublin. All welcome – admission free.

Mass Times: Mass is celebrated in St Anne’s Church at 10 a.m. and 7.30 p.m. Monday to Friday (except July, August and September). Weekend Mass times are Saturday 6.30 p.m. Vigil Mass and on Sunday at 8 a.m., 10.30 a.m. (Family Mass), midday, and 6 p.m.
First Friday: This Friday – June 1 – is the First Friday of the month and the Blessed Sacrament Adoration Chapel will be open from 10.30 a.m. to 7.30 p.m. Priests will be available on this day to visit the housebound and sick in the parish. ‘Come Away Awhile’ Retreat: Takes place this Saturday in St Anne’s Resource Centre from 2.30 p.m. to 6.15 p.m. ending with 6.30 p.m. Mass in the church. Feast of Corpus Christi – This Sunday: We invite all the children who received their First Holy Communion this year to come to the 10.30 a.m. Family Mass in their First Holy Communion clothes and join us in St Anne’s Resource Centre afterwards, for tea or coffee to celebrate the feast of Corpus Christi.
The World Meeting of Families 2018 Icon of the Holy Family: The Icon, which is travelling around the country will visit St Anne’s Parish from Thursday, July 12, to Saturday, July 14, The Icon of the Holy Family was specially commissioned by the WMoF 2018, written by iconographer Mihia Cucu and assisted by the Redemptoristine Sisters of the Monastery of St Alphonsus, Iona Road, Dublin. (see worldmeeting2018.ie. It is a great privilege to receive the Icon into St Anne’s Parish. We will have a prayer service at the reception of the Icon – more details to follow.

GAA CLUB NOTES
The juvenile academy takes place on a Saturday at 10 a.m. in our new home on Stonebridge Road. The cost is only €2 per child and there is no annual subscription.
Chase the Ace draw is held on Sunday nights in Brady’s. As there was no jackpot winner the €50 prize went to Niall Campbell. This week’s jackpot was €900. Tickets are €2 each or three for €5 and are available from club members or in the pub.
There was lots of visiting teams to Stonebridge Road last Saturday/Sunday week | with matches in Football, Hurling and camogie where there were great skills on show. Well done to our coaches and parents for getting all the teams out to their various venues. We are very proud of our girls who played in the Dublin Ladies’ Football Féile over the weekend. Winning isn’t everything you were brilliant ambassadors for our club both on and off the field. Well done, everybody.
