Club member Donal Lenihan once again had this event organised to perfection and the hard working Ann and Niicki provided much needed refreshments for all those taking part.

Thanks to all who helped out with stewarding, parking, water stations and registrations. This event goes from strength to strength each year and provides much needed funds for our own club and Wicklow Hospice.

County Minors – Well done to the lads who beat Westmeath in Aughrim on Wednersday, May 30, on a scoreline of 2-20 to 2-04. Well done to Kevin Quinn and Craig Maguire who had a great game. The lads still have Meath and Dublin to play.

Under-13s – Away v Baltinglass on Monday, June 4, at 7.15pm.

Under-11s – Under-11 boys Wicklow League on Wednesday, May 30, round 5. Again, a great turn out of players, 35 under-11 boys played football on Thursday, May 31. Thanks to parents particularly those who travelled to Bray and Rathnew to bring the kids to matches.

Blue squad were away to Rathnew green and despite a slow start picked up momentum and with some excellent interchanging of passes right from keeper to finisher we got great scores and battled very hard as usual and came away winners.

The White squad travelled away to Bray and again battled hard and unfortunately lost out by one score.

The Red squad were at home to Coolboy (who had long trip up fairplay to Coolboy and great to see team from small area thanks lads) and after battling right to the end and all players turning over a lot of play came away losing very marginally but great to see huge effort put in by all players.

Under-11 NKL - Lads were at home to St Edwards this morning Saturday at 11 am. They started really well which is great to see for this squad and played some very nice football movements. Unfortunately, they didn’t perform as well in the second half and lost by few scores. Well done to players today. Thanks to Jack Cotter for doing great job referreeing.

Under-10s – Parents/kids and coaches were on road very early for an 11am away on Saturday match to Cappagh and despite missing a good few players they played really well. Unfortunately, we lost by couple of scores but it’s all about good play rather than winning. Well done to all. NKL at home v Allenwood on Saturday, June 9, at 3.30pm.

Under-9s – Under-9s were in action in Celbridge in the Nkl on Saturday. Two very evenly matched teams produced a very entertaining game with some fine scores on view.

The lads worked their socks off and can now enjoy the long weekend with no training on Monday. Big thanks to all the parents for their continued support. Go Games in Valleymount on Saturday at 11am.

Under-8s – Away v St Edwards x2 on Saturday at 2.30pm.

U7’s – We played St Edwards away in NKL on Saturday. We had 16 players which was great turn out considering the weekend it is. We played two seven-a-side games and fell slightly short in one and won the other game.

The work rate of the lads today was brilliant and they are really starting to gel as a team.

It was great to see everyone starting to pick up properly, hand passes and now going for points rather than goals.

Again, a big thank you to all parents who made the journey to Straffan and a BIG thank you to Turlough Kinane on sponsoring our new set of jerseys.

Senior Ladies – Away v Clara on Sunday, June 10 at 7pm.

Under-10s and under-8s – Blitz on Saturday on June 9 in Rathnew at 10.30am.

Under-8s - Under-8 hurlers played Broadford on Saturday. It was a brilliant game and the improvement in this team is amazing. They are really following instructions, tight marking at the back, keeping wide in the forwards. We even saw a few hooks today. I couldn’t ask any more from this team. I haven’t seen Will O’Connor and Tadhg Kennedy playing so well. Watch out Brian Cody we’re coming for you.

Feile na nGael – Very best of luck to the Michael Dwyers hurling team heading to Féile this Friday, June 8.

The lads are really looking forward to meeting their host team Clan Na Gael (Athlone).

Special mention to our club players Sam Gough (Capt), Austin Brennan, Adam Williamson, Conor and Brian Rich- ardson and Finn Behan.

The team has had an incredible last year winning the under-13 county championship and then the Wicklow Féile competition.

Also, best wishes to our two brilliant club coaches Pat Brennan and David Richardson and John O’Toole (Kiltegan). The work they have put in with the lads has been incredible and greatly appreciated. We know the lads will have a memorable weekend and will hopefully bring home the Feile title.
