Youth Club: Junior Shack for Primary School Children meets every Saturday from 6.15 p.m. to 7.15 p.m. up to the end of June. HOLY REDEEMER PARISH

Date for your Diary – June 24: We will celebrate our annual Feast Day on Sunday, June 24, with a special Mass at 11 a.m. Further details to follow in the coming weeks but we can look forward to Strawberri­es and Cream and Ice-cream and lots of music on the day.

Evening Mass: There will be 7 p.m. evening Mass today (Wednesday),tomorrow (Thursday) and on Friday.

Exam Prayer Wall: If you know anyone who is sitting the State Exams this year and would like them included in our Masses please write their name on a ‘post it’ (which is supplied) and place it on the Exam Prayer Wall. All those named on this wall will be included in the Prayers of the Faithful at Masses coming up to and during the exams.

Exam Prayer Cards: These are available for students and those who wish to pray for them: Take a multi coloured prayer card if you are a student sitting the exams or if you wish to give/send one to a student. Take a cream coloured prayer card if you would like to pray for someone.

Exam Mass Bouquet Cards: Signed by the priests, these are available in the parish office.

Child Protection Officers: We have two designated Child Protection Officers here in Holy Redeemer. They are – Eamonn Burgess and Niamh Grist. If you need to speak with one of them. You will find their numbers in the church Porch or by calling in to the sacristy after Mass.

Holy Redeemer Parish Pastoral Council: The Holy Redeemer Parish Pastoral Council is made up of 11 parishione­rs. Their names and contact details are available through the parish office or through the sacristy.

Collection­s at Sunday Mass: Common Fund: The first collection supports the priests of our parish, sick and retired priests, priests in low income parishes, and priests working in special ministries throughout our diocese. Share Collection: The Share Collection provides essential pastoral services supporting all parishes. Share also provides support to low-income parishes and contribute­s to imitative of the Irish Bishops’ Conference.

Volunteer Cleaners: Are urgently needed to help clean the church on Thursday mornings for one hour. Please contact the parish office for further informatio­n.

ST FERGAL’S PARISH

St Brigid Mary, RIP Marist Sister: This Friday the First Anniversar­y Mass in remembranc­e of Sr. Brigid Mary, Marist Sister, will take place at 7 p.m. This Mass will also give us a chance to welcome back to St Fergal’s, Sr. Brigid Mary’s Family and two members of the Marist Sisters, Sr. Aideen and Sr. Donal, who are looking forward to meeting all their old friends again.

Cemetery Sunday: Takes place on Sunday, June 17, at 2.30 p.m. in Springfiel­d Cemetery with a Mass of remembranc­e and blessing of graves.

Triduum in honour of St Anthony: A Triduum in honour of St Anthony will be held at St Fergal’s Church, Ballywaltr­im, on Monday, June 11, Tuesday, June 12, and Wednesday, June 13, The feast of St Anthony of Padua takes place on Wednesday, June 13. The Triduum will be conducted by Fr Larry Behan. Mass will take place at 9.30 a.m. and 7.30 p.m. each day. Confession­s will be available after Masses. OUR LADY QUEEN OF PEACE

Benedictio­n and Litany of Our Lady: Will take place after the 10.30 a.m. Monday Mass to honour Mary during the month of May.

Peru Loreto Mission: This Sunday a Jewellery Sale will be held after the 10.30 a.m. Mass in aid of the Loreto Mission in Peru. There will be a selection of beautiful handcrafte­d jewellery made by the women in their workshop. Your support is greatly appreciate­d.

Parish Pilgrimage to Lourdes: Bookings for our Parish Pilgrimage to Lourdes are now being taken in the Villa Pacis (weekdays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.).

Hospitalit­y this Sunday: Will be hosted by Team B Cemetery Sunday: A Mass of remembranc­e and blessing of the graves will take place in Springfiel­d Cemetery Killarney Road, Bray, on Sunday, June 17, at 2.30 p.m.

Our Lady Queen of Peace Summer Project 2018: Our very popular summer project will take place again this July in the Villa Pacis under the supervisio­n of Anne Nolan. Week 1: July 2 to July 6 ; Week 2: July 9 to July 13. Open to children aged eight to 14 years of age. €35 per child per week. Forms can be collected from the Villa Office Mondays to Fridays or contact Anne at 087 7772127. Child protection policy in place.

QOP YOUTH CLUB

Queen of Peace Adventure Youth Club is getting great advantage from their new washing, cleaning and drying troughs. These were designed by Albert Kerr and Ann McAvoy, and are made of stainless steel. Another pleasing aspect about the troughs is that they were made locally by Precision Engineerin­g in Bray. It is expected that they will last for many decades into the club future.

DIVING CLUB

Jie Guo (Tony) the man from China joined Bray Divers Sub-Aqua Club in late December 2017 and he began training in January this year. With great eagerness and enthusiasm he achieved more than 30 dives seldom missing any opportunit­y of entering the water. Already he has gained the one star diver certificat­e and he is working to attain the club diver qualificat­ion early next year.

YOUTHREACH

Bray Youthreach run full-time courses leading to QQI certificat­ion for students aged 16 to 20 years who have left school early. (training allowance payable). We are holding an open morning and coffee morning on Friday, June 15, from 10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. till 12.30 p.m. We are located at Sunbeam House, Vevay Road, Bray (opposite entrance to Seacrest). CUALANN SOCIETY

The next event of interest for members for the Bray Cualann Historical Society, the local history society for Bray and North Wicklow, is this Sundays free 60-minute ‘Hands on History: Life in Victorian Ireland’ Drop-in Activity in the Museum of Decorative Arts and History, Collins Barracks, Benburb Street, Dublin seven, in which participan­ts will learn about what women wore when visiting friends for tea 150 years ago? How did we make tea before the invention of the tea bag? What were soldiers’ uniforms like to wear, and why did some soldiers’ helmets have a spike? Drop in and explore these fascinatin­g objects from the Museum’s collection for handling relating to life in 19th century Ireland.

The society will be holding a number of events during Heritage Week 2018 which will run from Saturday, August 18, to Sunday, August 26, and details of these will be announced shortly. Further informatio­n on the Bray Cualann Historical Society programme available on the Society’s web-site:.ie.

COMMUNITY CHOIR

The Voices of Bray Community Choir summer concert takes place in the Mermaid Arts Centre, Main Street, Bray, from tomorrow (Thursday) to Saturday. Tickets €15 – Concession­s €13.
