Agreement over five disposals
COUNCILLORS unanimously passed a number of disposal of council lands at Monday’s meeting of Wicklow County Council.
It was agreed to dispose of land in leasehold folio 2710L, 38 Beechwood Park, Kilcoole, to Sinead Connolly, 38 Beechwood Park, Kilcoole.
Another of the disposals involved the freehold interest at 32 Wolfe Tone Square, Bray to John Sullivan, the personal representative in the estate of Christopher John Sullivan. The freehold interest in the property at 35 Fernhill, Arklow was disposed of to Richard Watters and Geraldine Watters, 35 Fernhill, Arklow.
0.1182 hectares or thereabout of land at Brockagh (Knockfin) was disposed of by way of deed of rectification to Richard Cooke and Catherine Boyd.
0.193 acres of land in Kilmacanogue was disposed of to Denis Smith and Veronica Smith, ‘Gleann Aluine’, Kilmacanogue.
Cllr Christopher Fox questioned why the Kilmacanogue disposal had taken so long.
‘I thank the officials for getting to the end of this. This has been going on for a long number of years. There were a number of historical matters which had to be sorted out in the law section. This is an overhang from the N11 upgrade, which is probably ten years ago now. Have we sufficient resources within our law section? It is unfair for people to have to wait so long to get their affairs sorted out,’ said Cllr Fox. Chief Executive Frank Curran acknowledged that there was a backlog but the council intends to employ a contract solicitor to handle the build-up.
