New retail paint scheme for Arklow

RETAILERS in Arklow will receive grant aid to refresh their shop fronts as a new Retail Painting Grant Scheme has been launched.

The initiative is the result of collaborat­ion between Arklow Municipal District and Arklow Town Team and will run in conjunctio­n with Dulux Paints Ireland and Topline Bolands Arklow.

The aim of the scheme is to improve the visual appearance of buildings and to make the town a more attractive place to do business.

Members of Arklow Municipal District have allocated funding to assist approved businesses with the cost of painting the front facade of their premises.

Approved participan­ts will be offered a combined minimum discount of 30 per cent from Dulux Paints Ireland, Topline Bolands Arklow and Arklow Municipal District.

Cllr Tommy Annesley, Cathaoirle­ach of Arklow Municipal District and Chairman of the Town Team, said: ‘ This initiative is just another example of the good work of Arklow Town Team. Only by working together can we improve the appearance of Arklow town. I would like to acknowledg­e the support received from Dulux Paints Ireland and Topline Bolands Arklow’.

The closing date for receipt of applicatio­ns is 3 p.m. on Friday, June 15. Following this date, provisiona­l approval will issue from Arklow Municipal District to successful applicants. Works must be completed by August 8.
