ST MARY’S CHURCH

Sacrament of Reconcilia­tion – Confession­s are held in St Mary’s after 10.15 a.m. Mass on Saturday morning.

Exposition of Blessed Sacrament: After 10.15 a.m. Prayer Service each Friday morning in St Mary’s.

Curtlestow­n Cemetery Clean Up: The summer clean-up continues tonight (Wednesday) at 7 p.m. Please bring strimmers, rakes, large bags and plenty of elbow grease. Cup of tea at 8.30 p.m.

Where does the donation I make at Mass go?: First Collection – The first collection goes to the diocese of Dublin to support the Archbishop, Bishops and priests of the diocese, both hose serving in the parishes, Diocesan Administra­tion and the sick and retired priests. Christmas and Easter Due also form part of this fund and also assist in supporting the priests of the diocese. Second Collection – The second collection goes to the diocese of Dublin for their SHARE fund. This fund supports many of the central services of the diocese as well as providing support to parishes unable to meet their own financial needs. Pink Envelope – Donations placed in a Pink Envelope and left in either of the baskets stay in the parish and are used to help meet the ongoing cost, currently about €120,000 annually, of running the parish and maintainin­g its churches and buildings. If you would like the parish to include your Pink Envelope donations in its annual acknowledg­ement, please just write your name on the envelope. Both the diocese and the parish are sincerely grateful to you for your generosity.

Used Stamps: Barnardos Children’s Charity are looking for used stamps. The money raised through the sale of these stamps will go directly towards their work with vulnerable children here in Ireland. If you would like to leave your used stamps in an envelope in the basket at the back of the church we will forward them to Barnardos at regular intervals.

St Mary’s and St Gerard’s School car park: For security reasons the Enniskerry school car park must be closed after 11 a.m. Mass in St Mary’s. Can you ensure that if you are the last person leaving the car park after 11 a.m. Mass that you close the gate.

Bookstall: A bookstall has been placed in the rere of Enniskerry church to display suitable spiritual reading material. Please place money for books in shrines at back or front of church.

Legion of Mary – Kilmacanog­ue Presidium: Meet at 11.30 a.m. every Tuesday in the sacristy of St Mochonog’s. New members are most welcome. Group recite the Rosary on the first Saturday of each month at midday at the Grotto in the church grounds. Click on the link legionofma­ry.ie to view website.

HISTORY SOCIETY

Meetings of the Enniskerry History Society have now concluded and will resume in October when the autumn 2018 programme will take place, and planning on this is currently under way. Informatio­n on the Enniskerry History Society available from John Callan at 01 2867853.

The next event for members is this Saturdays 2.30 p.m. lecture by Philip Lecane ‘Torpedoed. The Sinking of the RMS Leinster’ to the Western Front Associatio­n (Dublin Branch) in the Museum of Decorative Arts and History Lecture Theatre, Collins Barracks, Benburb Street, Dublin seven. All welcome – €3 donation appreciate­d.

ENNISKERRY LIBRARY

Opening hours for the library are – Tuesday and Friday: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.; Wednesday: 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 6.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m., and Saturday: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. New members to the library are always very welcome. TENNIS CLUB

Kids entry free. Supporting Purple House, Open Door, and Enniskerry Joint Parishes. place on June 30 in Moneystown Community Centre starting at 8 p.m. till late. Music on the night will be Paul Molloy and the Whole Hog. Fully licensed.

PROGRESSIV­E 45

There will be a Progressiv­e 45’s Card Game on Sunday, June 17, in Roundwood Parish Hall at 7 p.m. Excellent Prize Money with raffle and Refreshmen­ts at the interval.

CLASSES

Kildare Wicklow ETB are currently advertisin­g for grant funding under the community education programme. The Community Council previously facilitate­d courses on flower arranging, digital photograph­y, IT and art. PURE MILE WALK

A walk to the deserted village as part of the Pure Mile project will take place at 11 a.m. on Sunday, July 1, meeting at the Wicklow Way junction at Lake Park (look out for the poster and balloons). The walk will follow the Wicklow Way then veer off to take in some fantastic views of Lough Dan and Luggala valleys. If it’s a fine day bring the kids and a picnic. Limited parking available.

PURE MILE MEETING

The next meeting for those interested in the Baltynanim­a Pure Mile will take place at 8.30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27, in Roundwood Parish Hall. OUR LADY’S ISLAND

There will be a pilgrimage to Our Lady’s Island on Sunday, August 19, leaving Roundwood at 10 a.m. from the Parish Hall. Cost is €65 per person which includes the bus, scones and dinner. Money and names to Susan at 087 76273032 before August 1.

MUSIC IN CALARY

The next concert in our 2018 series will take place at 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 28, in Calary Church. Seán Carpio (drums), Mikkel Ploug (guitar) Simon Jermyn (guitar), Jeppe Skovbakke (bass), and Joachim Badenhorst (reeds) will play a concert of original music that will speak about the places of its origin, including Calary, in order to present a complex yet nuanced concert experience transformi­ng musical elements of speech into music.

MEDJUGORJE

WALKING GROUP

The Roundwood Whizzers Walking Group will now meet at the Knockrahee­n entrance (Newtown Road R765) to the Upper Vartry Reservoir at 7 p.m. every Wednesday for the summer months. There are now a range of walks to suit all levels of ability. So do come along to walk at your own pace for approximat­ely one hour. All welcome.

CEILI DANCING LESSONS

Adult ceili dancing classes are held every Wednesday night in the parish hall from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. Learn to solo dance and also group dances under the tuition of Aoife, Cian and Eimear and have great fun learning.
