INAUGUARAL KEV FEST GARNERS SUPPORT

-

‘KEV FEST’ took place in the Porterhouse last week, in memory of the late Kevin Quinn.

Musicians came together to pay tribute to their friend, in an event organised by Kevin’s pal Shane Maloney.

There was grief in North Wicklow earlier this year when musician Kevin (22) died suddenly.

Kevin was a former lead singer with the band Buckshot Amber, and was highly regarded in the musical community, working on a number of collaborations and solo projects.

A large number of musicians played for more than six hours, raising over €2,200 towards Kev’s funeral costs and celebrating his life.

Shane has already started to plan Kev Fest 2019, and hopes to set an annual tradition.

A fantastic turnout on the night demonstrated how much Kevin touched people’s lives.

‘Kev was like my little brother. He lit up every room he entered and we miss him so much,’ said Shane.

Musicians included Kev’s former band Buckshot Amber; Rick Walsh, Cody Power, Damian Cahill. Robbie Doyle and many others.

Raffle prizes included cash, hotel vouchers, garden maintenance, tattoo vouchers, weekends away and other amazing items and experiences.

Everything was kindly donated by local businesses and individuals.

Singer-songwriter Kevin died in the Kilcoole area on Tuesday, April 3.
