Two breweries taking part in Indie Beer Week

TWO Wicklow breweries will be hosting special events to mark the second Indie Beer Week.

Indie Beer Week runs from June 22 to July 1 and will feature more than 30 breweries hosting over 50 events at locations right across the country.

Wicklow Brewery will be giving daily guided tours of their bustling brewery in Redcross at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. daily from June 22 to June 29 and again on July 1. Tours are priced at €15 and will provide an overview of how Wicklow Brewery came to be .

The tour will also include an audiovisua­l explanatio­n of the brewing process and will conclude with a beer tasting, where guests can sampling some of the brewery’s award-winning craft beers.

The brewery has plenty more packed into its line up for the week, including a brewing demonstrat­ion on June 30, a yoga class with a twist in the brewery hall on the same date and a trad session at Mickey Finn’s Pub on Wednesday, June 27.

On June 30, O Brother Brewing in Kilcoole will open its doors, allowing people the opportunit­y to wander around the facility and soak up the atmosphere. There will be tasty food and live music to entertain visitors looking to learn a bit more about Ireland’s thriving craft brewing industry.
