Mass and a party – a great day

- By MARY FOGARTY

PARISHIONERS of the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer in Bray enjoyed bluegrass, strawberries and cream on the lawn, and entertainment for children at last week’s Feast Day celebration. The day started with Mass at 11 a.m., followed by music, teas, coffees, and even an ice cream van. Mgr Enda Lloyd and Fr Dan Nguyen celebrated Mass with a large congre- gation. Harpists and a mix of three choirs played music.

During Mass, there was a sermon relating to the forthcoming World Meeting of Families and Papal visit in August. Mgr Enda and parish pastoral council chairwoman Aileen O’Reilly discussed arrangements. There is a lot of interest in the parish in attending one or more of the Papal events.

After Mass, a children’s entertainer made balloon animals and did magic tricks. The children also got their faces painted.

A bluegrass band entertained everyone for the afternoon.

The parishioners enjoyed beautiful weather for a most successful day.
