COMEDIAN Dara Ó Briain will re-join his former GAA club Bray Emmets this September, to host their corporate lunch in Dublin.
Bray native Dara, pictured here with Bray Emmetts members at Croke Park, is no stranger to a hurl, but the microphone will be his weapon of choice on September 7.
Guests will also be joined by rac- ing’s AP McCoy and hurling’s Nicky English for the lunch, for which a few tables remain available.
The event includes a three-course lunch, sports talk with the stars, and networking opportunities.
Speakers will give their views on everything from this year’s All Ireland tournaments to Ireland’s chances in the next rugby world cup. THE NEW Greystones Community National School building in Charlesland may be delayed as the return date for tenders has been changed.
Speaking last week at a board meeting of Kildare Wicklow ETB, Cllr Jennifer Whitmore said that there are concerns that the September 2019 deadline will not be met.
‘Yesterday I found out that there has been a further delay of one month in the proposed build of the new CNS for Charlesland,’ said Cllr Whitmore, pictured right, at the meeting.

The event will take place at the Ballsbridge Hotel at 1.30 p.m. temporary buildings at Greystones Rugby Club.‘ The department had previously advised that the return date for tenders was May 9. We found out yesterday that this had been put back a month to June 6. No explanation as to why this delay happened has been given.’ The Department of Education said that a September 2019 open date for the school is still possible. ‘I believe that meeting this deadline is now highly unlikely,’ said Cllr Whitmore. ‘ This means that the board of the CNS, of which I am Chair, will now have to go through the planning process again in order to install a further two portacabins at the temporary location of the Rugby Club on Mill Road, Greystones for the September intake.’ She said that this puts considerable pressure on staff and parents.
She asked that the KWETB do whatever it can to ensure that the Department expedite the school build. In April, the school was granted permission for further portacabins in order to facilitate an intake of two classes in September 2018.
