Lost woman is reunited with her walking group

WICKLOW’S Mountain Rescue teams reunited a lost walker with her companions after she became separated from her party on Sunday.

The Dublin and Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team and the Glen of Imaal Mountain Rescue Team were tasked by gardaí to assist the woman at 3.15 p.m. She became separated from her walking group while descending from the summit of Lugnaquilla.

Sarloc Rescue was used to try and locate the woman. The smartphone application was designed to help mountain rescue to deal more quickly with incidents in which a walker needing help is unable to give their location.

The missing woman was tracked to the Ow Valley were mountain rescue personnel met her and transported her back to the Glen of Imaal to be reunited with the rest of her walking group.
