Gerry celebrates his 90th birthday with family and friends
THERE were mighty celebrations in the Martello recently as Gerard Cleary celebrated his 90th birthday.
Gerry, who is originally from Shankill, moved to Bray when he met and married local woman Joan Cleary in 1960.
The couple, who live in Rathmore Terrace raised four chil- dren – Gerard, Austin, Madeline and Anthony – and now have ten grandchildren.
Joan said Gerry had a fantastic night for his birthday celebrations with almost 100 guests in attendance.
‘We had a great night’, said Joan. ‘Everyone really enjoyed it and it was great to mark the occasion with all our family, friends and relations.’
Gerry is an extremely popular person who is well known around the town having worked in Solas and with Wicklow County Council for many years.’
