O’Sullivan’s tribute to Jacques Brel

-

IRISH-FRENCH chanteuse Camille O’Sullivan will perform at the Mermaid Arts Centre this Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m.

Over the weekend Camille will bring her critically acclaimed concert of music, paying tribute to the legendary Belgian singer-songwriter Jacques Brel.

Camille will perform from her album, Brel, and summons the haunting Parisian soul within Brel’s repertoire, including such favourites as ‘Amsterdam’ and ‘Ne Me Quitte Pas’.

‘Brel is the reason I’m a singer today. I essentially ended my career as an architect to become a performer after falling in love with singing his music’, said Camille.

The Telegraph recently voted her one of the top 25 performances ever on the BBC’s Later With Jools Holland. Sexy, fierce and mesmerizing, Camille transforms each song into an intense, emotional experience.

Tickets cost €25/23 and can be purchased online at www. mermaidartscentre.ie or by calling the box office on 012724030.
