Chance for act to ‘Play the Picnic’
A SHANKILL act called Aerbeatz is among those to have been short-listed as finalists in this year’s ‘Play the Picnic’ competition.
The electronic music artist has reached the final 30 participants, out of almost 400 entries.
The final ten will get to perform at this year’s Electric Picnic but success depends on public votes.
The act from the final ten with the highest number of public votes will play the larger Cosby stage and win music masterclasses, a studio session and airtime on 2FM.
Also on the short list are Purple Ice from Greysstones and The Felonies from Wicklow, Newtownmountkennedy and Bray.
The initiative is being held in collaboration with RTÉ 2FM, Electric Picnic and the Jack and Jill Foundation for up-and-coming Irish artists.
Texts cost €2 with the proceeds going towards the Jack and Jill Foundation.
To vote for Aerbeatz simply text PICNIC1 to 50300. To vote for Purple Ice text PICNIC7 and for The Felonies it’s PICNIC 24.
The closing date for voting is this Friday, July 27.
Texters who send in a vote will be in with a chance to win tickets to the festival.
