Fatal collision occurs near Laragh
A motorcyclist killed in a collision near Laragh has been named as 37-year-old Dublin man Andrew Clarke.
The accident occurred on Sunday at around 12.30 p.m. on the R755. Local residents who heard the crash attempted to administer CPR to Mr Clarke but he was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. His motorbike was involved in a collision with a jeep. The driver of the jeep was uninjured.
Mr Clarke’s body was removed to St Columcille’s Hospital in Loughlinstown.
The stretch of road between Laragh and Annamoe was closed for an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and diversions were put in place. Mr Clarke was a father-of-one.
