O’Connor’s shortlisted for Irish Pub Global Awards
A SOUTH Wicklow pub has been shortlisted in three categories for a prestigious competition designed to showcase the cream of local Irish public houses.
O’Connor’s, Tinahely was a favourite with voters in this year’s Irish Pub Global Awards.
The awards allow Irish pub patrons worldwide the opportunity to vote for their favourite establishment across a number of categories including best whiskey and cocktail experiences, best bar person and chef, and mos importantly, best overall pub. After a record 25,000 public votes, the shortlist is now in and Wicklow is represented by O’Connor’s in Tinahely which is shortlisted in four categories - Irish Pub of the Year, Best Community Pub, Best Sports Experience and Best Food Experience.
The venue is a favourite with local punters who enjoy watching all their favourite sporting fixtures and sampling some of the delicious menu offerings.
There has also been plenty of activity at O’Connor’s in recent days as a new marquee was erected and is set to host upcoming functions, and the excitement is also mounting for the awards ceremony.

The overall winners will be announced at the Irish Pubs Global Awards on October 9 in the Galmont Hotel Galway, as part of the 2018 Irish Pubs Global Gathering.
