Gillian’s mission to Bridge Street

-

BRAY VET Gillian Hick will be in Wicklow town this evening to launch her new book ‘Vet on a Mission’. Gillian, pictured below, who runs Clover Hill Veterinary Clinic, will be in Bridge Street Books today ( Wednesday, July

25) at 6.30 p.m. to launch her third book.

Vet on a Mission is full of the stories of the animals and people Gillian encounters as she leaves behind the world of mixed animal practice to embark upon opening her own small animal veterinary practice. With honesty and humour, the mother of three describes the struggle to balance motherhood and family life with the demands of being a 24-hour on-call vet.

The book will have animal lovers falling in love with pets they’ve never met, including Straus the ailing German Shepherd, Edward the donkey, Charlie the chincillia, Spud the Collie and George the snoring boxer dog.

Gillian Hick was born in Dublin and qualifed as a vet from UCD in 1998. She lives in Wicklow with her husband and three teenage children and is also the author of ‘Vet on the Loose’ and ‘Vet Among the Pigeons’.

‘Vet on a Mission’ is published by O’Brien Press and is on sale now at €9.99.
