Cathal wins the jackpot in Coolkenno lotto draw

-

IT was more a case of the Laughing Cow rather than The Dying Cow for Coolkenno man Cathal Rossiter on Monday night last when he collected a cheque for a whopping €16,300 following his win in the Coolkenno GAA Club lotto last week.

A small crowd of committee members and friends were gathered in Eamonn Dolan’s popular The Dying Cow pub on Monday evening for the presentation of the healthy sum to the formidable Coolkenno full-back.

Better known for his ability to worry opposing full-forwards, Rossiter was all over last week’s lotto draw like a rash as his four numbers scooped the healthy jackpot and he was ordered to ‘spend it all on yourself’ by one concerned committee member on Monday night.

The unforgiving defender gave no clue as to his intentions for the considerable lob, but no doubt it will be well spent by himself and partner Tracy.

The evening was something of a double celebration for rock-hard Rossiter.

Talented Cathal played a pivotal role in Coolkenno’s victory in their opening Darcy Sands Intermediate Football Championship victory over Ballinacor in Baltinglass on Sunday evening from his usual berth at full-back.

If Cathal’s handling of the Ballinacor attack is anything to go by, the poor cheque doesn’t stand much hope.
