Probation report for motoring offences

JUDGE David Kennedy ordered a probation report in the case of a man facing a number of motoring offences at last Thursday’s sitting of Bray District Court.

Oliver Officer, 46 Ar Na Greine, Bray, is charged with driving without insurance, failing to produce an NCT cert, failure to produce a drivers licence, no insurance and failure to produce an insurance certificat­e.

All matters relate to October 28, 2016, at Main Street, Bray.

Defence solicitor Brendan Maloney said his client was 38-years-old and originally from Ardoyne in Northern Ireland.

The defendant has 90 previous conviction­s in Northern Ireland, including a threeyear prison sentence for GBH caused by dangerous driving. He moved to Bray when he was 30 years old.

The court was also informed that Mr Officer had been sentenced to a two-and-a-half-year sentence the previous day to his appearance in Bray.

Judge Kennedy requested a probation report and adjourned proceeding­s until November 19.
