Something extra on the menu in Aughrim as The Grainstore re-opens

-

THE village of Aughrim got a welcome boost this week as The Grainstore Restaurant re-opened under new management. Experienced hotelier Marianne Fox takes over, with chef Sean Keogh by her side, as the doors opened to the public last Friday.

Marianne and Sean have been working hard on their new menu, which aims to appeal to the local market, as well as tourists and visitors to Wicklow.

‘We will be offering top quality ingredients, cooked and presented in a modern way, but at an affordable price. We aim to deliver a dining experience to remember for all our guests, with contemporary cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere,’ Marianne said.

Chef Sean brings with him a wealth of experience. From his time working in France at La Bonne Etape, to his local service as sous chef in Micky Finn’s, Redcross, and head chef in Christy’s of Arklow, Sean is eager to put his stamp on the Grainstore.

Marianne also has hospitality in her blood, having worked alongside her parents Peter and Marion Moore to build up The Meetings as a successful business for many years. More recently she has enjoyed four years at the Arklow Bay Hotel, first as Food and Beverage Manager and then as General Manager.

The restaurant is located adjacent to The Meath Arms.
