Scholes to tog out in Carisle Grounds

FORMER Manchester United and England player Paul Scholes will be among a team of European legends coming to Bray for a Wicklow Hospice charity match.

The legends XI team will grace Bray’s Carlisle Grounds on September, with Scholesly lining out alongside Brian McClair, Clayton Blackmore, Keith Gillespie, John Wark, Alan Kennedy, Gary Messett and many more.

Kick-off is at 3 p.m. with tickets €10 and available at gr8events.ie.

There are lots of ways you can take part in this unique experience with your legends.

There will be a meet and greet in the Martello before the game, chances to play in the match, watch up close and personal, or attend a blacktie dinner on the night in the Arklow Bay.

The foundation is at the stage of building the first ever standalone hospice. The people of Wicklow have already raised over €4 million. A further €1.25 million was pledged by the government, and a bank loan was secured.

A 15-bed hospice will open by September 2019 to provide palliative care both in the hospice and in patients’ homes.
