Balloon burst in support of Robert

-

THE community of south Wicklow came out in force in Tinahely on Monday for a novel fundraiser in support of Robert Nolan, who is battling his way back to health following a Lyme Disease diagnosis.

The event took place outside Murphy’s Hotel and saw a whopping 57 balloons burst, each containing an exciting prize for a lucky ticket holder. A total of 55 prizes were donated by local sponsors and the final two prizes were cash amounts of €250.

The lucky winners of the two top €250 prizes were Bernie Nolan, Carnew, and Teresa Dempsey, Coolkenno. There was great excitement as the final cash prize was in the very last balloon burst, keeping everyone on their toes.

Organiser Úna Somers Butler thanked everyone who supported the fundraiser and said that she was delighted to announce that the €5,000 event target was reached and this will be donated to Robert’s gofundme.com campaign.

She said that everybody wanted to show support for Robert who is a local man and she wished him well in his recovery.
