MAXI ZOO OFFERING DOG OWNERS ADVICE

-

MAXI Zoo in Bray is devoting August to helping dog owners learn all they need to know about the everyday essentials required to keep their pet happy, healthy and content.

‘It is important for dog owners to take time to understand what works best for their dog when it comes to rest and play allowing for the agility, mobility and the age of their dog,’ said Emma Fanning, Brand Ambassador at Maxi Zoo Ireland.

‘ The right advice is essential when it comes those choosing those everyday essentials like collars, leads, food bowls, bedding and toys for your pet. There is a lot to consider and our pets experts are there to help pet parents make the right decision,’ she said.

‘A collar and IT tag are absolutely essential. Wide collars work best and help to protect your dog’s trachea if they lunge or strain on the leash, whereas small dogs whose tracheas could be easily bruised and more energetic dogs who are prone to straining would be safer in a harness,’ said Emma.

‘Choosing the right leash also requires careful consideration. A long leash can provide your pet with freedom but a pet owner’s first priority should be to find a leash that allows them to be in control of their pet at all times,’ Emma continued.

Maxi Zoo is encouraging pet parents to put thought into their choice of water and food bowls, while should also be given to choosing the right bedding. The pet experts are also available to advise on the type of outdoor activities best suited to a pet and to find the right toys for a variety of games.

Maxi Zoo is also encouraging new and existing pet owners to ensure their pet is microchipped and to avail of the free Microchip check service that the store offers in association with FIDO.ie.
