Illustrative talk all about Ogham writing

-

UNDER the umbrella of the Roundwood and District Community Council, the local Men’s Shed will plant ten native Irish trees and saplings along one of the local trails.

An engraved oak stake bearing the name of each tree in Irish, English and Ogham will be fixed to the ground beside each sapling.

Dr Nora White is an authority on the Ogham writing and, as part of the project and National Heritage Week, she will be giving an illustrative talk in Roundwood Parish Hall on Tuesday, August 21 at 8 p.m. Admission will be free and all are invited to come along.

Seighean Ó Draoi, will be doing the engraving and will be teaching and tutoring the men in the shed to do the Ogham writing.
