Glenmalure Pure Mile group has organised a full day’s hike, beginning at 9 a.m., taking in all the significant lead mine sites. The walk starts at Glendasan and finishes at Baravore, Glenmalure, and will include informative talks on Wicklow’s mining heritage. It costs €10 to take part and places must be booked in advance. A Chinese bridge, zen circle, standing stones and a manmade island are just some of the treasure’s to be found at Knockanree Gardens near Avoca. The gardens will be open from 9.30 a.m. till 1.30 p.m. and admission is €5. SEABED SURVEY VESSEL
Infomar and the Cherish Project invite people along to Arklow Harbour and come aboard at Geological Survey Ireland inshore survey vessel with a 3D seabed mapping system. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., guests will learn more about the Cherish Project and how climate change and storminess impacts coastal heritage. THE BIG DIG
This event, organised by the Heritage Office at Wicklow County Council, will give children hands-on experience of archaeology through a simulated archaeological excavation. Taking place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., places are free but must be booked in advance. BUTTER-MAKING WORKSHOP Dunlavin and District Forum will take a step back into the past as they
host a butter-making demonstration at 11 a.m. in Market Square, Dunlavin. The display by Dunlavin Dairies will be followed by a bread and jam picnic.

Bray Cualann Historical Society will host a free talk at 11.30 a.m. in Bray Library, Eglinton Road, looking at life in the town in the week of August 18 to August 26, 1918.
ENNISKERRY LOCAL HISTORY
Join local historian Michael Seery at Enniskerry Library at 11.30 a.m. on a journey through the archives of Ennniskerry village. This talk will include essays, articles and images telling stories of the people of Enniskerry.
GEORGIAN HOUSE TOUR
Luisne Centre for Wellbeing invites people to visit Darraghville House on Main Street, Kilcoole, from midday to 5 p.m. There will also be a walled garden tour and exhibition while finger food will be served by people in 18th century costume. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Entry is €5 for adults and €10 for families.

The fifth Bray Sea Scouts urge people to come along to their den at Bray Harbour from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. to see two historic rowing boats, the East Coast Skiffs, as well as the process of making oars and other equipment.

ST CRISPIN’S CELL
Greystones Tidy Towns present this free event from 3 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. at the historic St Crispin’s Cell at Redford. There will be a talk on the historic sites and buildings of Greystones, a painting competition for children, uilleann pipes and singing from local choirs.
MASS ROCK
Hollywood Tidy Towns are reviving the Mass Rock, or Carraig an Aifreann, at Round Hill, Granamore, near Hollywood, which is one of only a few in the country. This special event, which begins at 4 p.m., will honour a piece of local history that dates from Penal times.
STORIES FROM THE FREEMASONS
Local Freemasons will share their stories of joining the Freemasons at this free talk at 8 p.m. in the Greystones Masonic Centre on Hillside Road. Guests will hear about famous Irish and international masons that are all connected through their traditions.
