ARCHAEOLOGICAL EXCAVATION
The Medieval Bray Project is looking for volunteers to come and join them between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. for an archaeological excavation of two trenches at Raheen na Chluig Medieval Church on Bray Head. Suitable for children under-12. MOUNT USHER GUIDED TOUR
People attending Mount Usher Gardens near Ashford today can avail of free guided tours of the gardens at 10.30 a. m. and 2 p. m. During these tours, they will learn how the ‘ Robinsonian’ - style garden has been organically managed for over 38 years. Bray Cualann Historical Society will host a free talk at 11.30 a.m. in Ballywaltrim Library, Boghall Road, looking at life in the town in the week of August 18 to August 26, 1943, and how the fourth year of the Emergency was impacting on day-to-day life in the town. UPDATE OF BRAY DIG
The Medieval Bray Project will present the preliminary results of the recent investigations at Raheen na Chluig Church on Bray Head at 7 p.m. in Bray Library. The findings are based on last year’s excavation. GLENDALOUGH EXCAVATIONS
Glendalough Heritage Forum has organised a guided tour of the UCD School of Architecture excavations at Glendalough. Guests can examine the trenches and artefacts and find out how archaeologists figure out the stories beneath the soil. Participants should meet at the round tower ahead of a 2 p.m. start.
