HOLLYWOOD BRAY EMMETS 1-10 1-7

VICTORY over Bray Emmets means two wins and a draw out of three championship battles for Hollywood but they’re going to have to stop fading out of games if they are to bring their unquestionable talent and ability to the business end.

Twice in this game they disappeared from view as Bray Emmets recovered from two strong 15-minute bursts from Mick Murray’s men to rally and leave this game very much in the mix right up until the final whistle.

Hollywood’s draw against Rathnew would have provided Bray Emmets with all the warnings they needed that last year’s Intermediate champions are a serious force and the start they unleashed in Joule Park Aughrim would have put any remaining doubts to bed in a big way.

Mick Murray’s men led by 1-5 to 0-1 after 16 minutes. A Ciaran Tyrrell point in the first minute was followed by a stunning Tony Hannon goal thanks to a marauding Mikey Healy run from deep 120 seconds later.

However, Bray gathered their thoughts and the robbery of Patrick O’Keeffe resulted in Bray attacking with the superb support of full-back Dara Lohan and it was his pass to Eoin McCormack that sent the dual player through to wallop home past Ian Burke to drag Bray right back into this contest trailing by 1-5 to 1-2.

Points from the very busy Marc Lennon at full-forward and Des Kelly were answered by a Tony Hannon free and the teams retired at the break with Hollywood 1-6 to 1-4 ahead.

Just like the first half, Hollywood started the second with real
