intent. Thomas Burke (free) and Tony Hannon had points on the board within three minutes and a fine Cian Tyrrell effort after nine minutes left the west side sitting pretty at 1-9 to 1-4.

But Bray would again bounce back as Hollywood proved wasteful. Three wides were recorded by Mick Murray’s men in the next 15 minutes as Bray began clawing back the deficit with points from Des Kelly and substitute Shane Lohan.

Bray were playing some really useful football at this stage and were being encouraged from the sideline to ‘press, press, don’t let them out’.

After a worrying gap of 19 minutes, Thomas Burke lifted the siege and split the posts off his right boot to put four between the teams at 1-10 to 1-6.

Shane Lohan grabbed his second after 29 minutes and a Bray goal was always a possibility but, in the end, Hollywood seen it out and claimed second spot behind Rathnew on score difference at the top of Group 2. They’re out to 14/1 in some bookies to win the Miley Cup. They have their shortcomings, but they also have ambition, belief and ability. There are worse bets out there.
