The champions began the second period in determined fashion and Niamh Mutton had the sides level in two minutes when she connected overhead to score a great equalising goal.

A Laura Manley free put the home side ahead again on ten minutes.

Two quick points from Laura Hogan put the title holders one point up again. Laura had a fine second half and was very influential in the middle third of the field.

Another Laura Manley free levelled matters again but a brace of points from Ciara Byrne (one a 45) nosed Knockananna back into a two-point lead. Ciara was playing very well at this stage despite being tightly policed by Lisa Hogan.

Again Laura Manley came back with a point, this one from a 45. Then on 21 minutes, Vick Coen brought the sides level again with a fine point.

Knockananna came strongly for the last ten minutes and a point from Ciara Byrne and two from Eirn Moules left them three points to the good with time running out. In a last fling of the dice a long ball into the Glenealy full-forward line found Lottie Cullen who scored a great goal to secure the draw.

This was a fine, sportingly contested game of camogie and both sides, for different reasons, will benefit from it.
