Quarter-final draw

THE draw for the JBFC quarter-finals was made last Friday evening in Joule Park Aughrim and it has thrown up some tantalising collisions.

The men of Avoca will take on Baltinglass in what should be a very entertaining encounter. That game is pencilled in for Thursday, August 23, in Annacurra at 7.30pm.

It’s a trip to Roundwood for the Blessington and Enniskerry teams for their quarter-final on Tuesday, August 21, at 7.30pm.

Hollywood will face Dunlavin in their quarter-final after they defeated An Tochar by 2-16 to 1-12.

The remaining quarter-final is slightly more complicated and requires a play-off to decide who goes forward to take on the men of Kiltegan.

The first game of that play-off will have taken place by the time of going to print and the winners of that game between Carnew and Ashford will play Bray on Friday evening at 7.15pm at a venue to be decided. The semi-finals are fixed for Thursday, August 30 at venues still to be decided.
