The third round Intermediate Championship match for Mark Kings troops took place last Saturday night in Roundwood and what a gutsy win it was for our Kilmac boys.

After two opening round defeats, it was a must win game v Dunlavin last Saturday and the task was made harder when they conceded an early goal and it was 2-02 to 02 when Josh O’Callaghan got a vital goal and the teams went in at the break 2-04 to 1-04 in favour of Dunlavin. Mick Whelan levelled it all up with a goal after the restart and scores were traded before Niall Meldon got another vital goal and Kilmac ran out worthy winners on a 3-11 to 3-09 score.

It was also great to see Stephen ‘Moggy’ Morgan come on and get a vital point and gave the team a boost and hopefully now the lads can go on and win the last two games in this tough group and seal a quarter final place.
