Qatari travel blogger to share details of Garden County visit
A POPULAR Qatari travel and lifestyle blogger visited Wicklow recently as a guest of Tourism Ireland, Fáilte Ireland, Qatar Airways and Inter-Continental Dublin.
Blogger Abdulaziz Al Jail will be sharing details of his travels in Ireland with his more than 80,000 followers on Instagram and YouTube. His action-packed itinerary included visits to some of Co Wicklow’s top attractions, like Powerscourt House and Gardens and Kilruddery House.
According to Tourism Ireland, Ireland welcomed around 71,000 visitors from the Middle East in 2017. Among the GCC countries, Qatar is a growing market for Irish tourism and this received a significant boost last year, when Qatar Airways launched a new flight between Doha and Dublin. They said world-class horse-racing and golf, as well as screen tourism – and, in particular, connections with Star Wars and Game of Thrones – have helped raise the profile of the island of Ireland in the GCC in recent years.
Aisling McDermott, Tourism Ireland’s Manager Asia and Middle East, said: ‘Blogs and social media are recognised as strong influencers on prospective holidaymakers, so Tourism Ireland was delighted to invite Abdulaziz Al Jail to visit Wicklow and Ireland. He’ll be documenting his visit online – sharing lots of great photos and content and inspiring his readers and followers to come and discover Ireland for themselves.
