Bronze for super Síonna at British championships

-

ARKLOW ROWING CLUB had two crews competing in the British Rowing Offshore Championships this past week in Poole, England.

In the Ladies Singles was Síonna Healy, who only last month placed third in the Swedish Rowing Coastal Championships and was looking to place again as she prepares to qualify for the World Rowing Coastal Championships in Victoria, Canada, this October.

Over the 6km course and in tough conditions which saw one competitor capsize, Síonna put in an impressive display which saw here secure another International medal this season in taking home bronze.

Síonna’s sights now turn to the Welsh Open and the Irish Offshore Rowing Championships, the latter acting as a qualifier for the World Championships.

Also participating was Cormac Kelly in the men’s singles who unfortunately failed to qualify out of Heat 2, in which there was two crews who went on to medal in second and third.
