It’s an opportunity to connect with the community and provide a hot meal and social contact call to older people in the area. We are looking for volunteer drivers who can give up two or three hours twice a month to facilitate this much needed service. Interested volunteers should contact Maoiliosa Kelly at 086 8322466 for further information.
WALKING ASSOCIATION
The Enniskerry Walking Association was formed in 2004 to protect traditional walking routes in the area and to promote walking for recreation, for health, as a safe alternative to car use, and to help us all to learn more about our locality.
Our popular Tuesday evening walks usually meet at the Spar in Enniskerry at 7 p.m. Saturday walks meet at 1.30 p.m. All, who are interested, adults or children, are most welcome. Walks vary in length but most last between one-and-a half and two-and-ahalf hours; some (but not all) involve a bit of climbing. Please wear appropriate warm and rain-proof clothing, and proper walking boots for the occasional muddy or rocky track. In the interests of walker’s comfort and safety participants are asked to respect the directions of the walk leader and stay between the leader and the anchor person.
This coming Tuesdays Walk is: Fassaroe and St Valery’s returning via Berryfield. Meet outside Spar at 7 p.m. – two hours duration. Feel free just to turn up (sharp) on any of the Tuesday walks. If you want any further information, phone Niall Lenoach, EWA chairperson (087 9284934) or Noel Barry, EWA secretary at 01 2860043: Email enniskerrywalking@gmail.com.
Please note that this is a community activity organised by volunteers who accept no liability for injuries or loss caused to participants in the above walk.
