Biopic set in 1950s Hollywood and starring Bryan Cranston as legendary screenwriter Dalton Trumbo, whose membership of the American Communist Party attracted the ire of zealots like John Wayne and gossip columnist Hedda Hopper, who managed to get him blacklisted. Imprisoned and shunned, Trumbo continued writing under aliases, and even won an Oscar.
