Missing person found in Glen of the Downs

A VULNERABLE missing person was located last Wednesday after they were reported missing in the Glen of the Downs.

At 4.53 p.m., both the Dublin and Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team and the Glen of Imaal Mountain Rescue Team were tasked by the gardaí to help search for the person, who had been missing for over an hour when the two rescue teams were contacted.

Mountain rescue search managers formulated a search plan, while rescue personnel began a search of the area.

At 5.32 p.m., the assistance of the Search and Rescue Dog Association (SARDA) was sought and two dog teams and their handlers joined the search.

The missing person was located at 6.30 p.m.. They were medically examined by a mountain rescue doctor and, as a precautionary measure, were transferred to hospital by ambulance.

The incident was stood down at 7.29 p.m.
