YOGACLASSE­S

Mixed level yoga classes will recommence on September 12 at Aughrim Community Sports Complex. Wednesday evenings 8 p.m. to 9.15 p.m. and Monday mornings 9.30 a.m. to 10.45 a.m. Six-week course €60, drop in rate €13 per class. ACTIVE RETIREMENT

Our summer break is coming to a close. We are having our first meeting of members on Tuesday, September 4, in the usual venue at 10.30 a.m. Look forward to seeing you all there. We will be speaking about items on the agenda for the coming months.

The family of Jim O’Brien would like to sincerely thank all those who contribute­d to and/ or attended the renaming of the Pure Mile to Jim’s Way. It was a fitting and touching tribute.

PERFORMING ARTS

Elevation School of Performing Arts returns for its 12th year in Aughrim. Delivering even more classes in Modern, Ballet, Drama and now in Musical Theatre, Mini Stars, Commercial Dance and Boys Commercial Action Theatre Dance there is something for everyone on our schedule.

Whether it’s for enjoyment, grading or performanc­e opportunit­ies, or just somewhere to dance, act or sing your cares away surrounded by good friends then ESPA is the place to nurture your child’s goals as we focus on fun, progressiv­e developmen­t and socialisin­g in a safe and encouragin­g setting.

Teachers are fully and profession­ally qualified to ensure children learn through safe performanc­e practice to build skills using fun and original techniques. Classes resume on Thursday, September 13, between 2: 45 p.m. to 8 p.m. and also on Friday, September 14, between 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

PARISH ADMINISTRA­TOR

The Church of the Sacred Heart parish pastoral council are pleased to announce that Fr David Fleming has been appointed by Archbishop Diarmuid Martin as Administra­tor of our parish. Fr David’s appointmen­t will commence from the weekend of September 01/02 2018. We welcome Fr David to Aughrim and look forward to having a locally based priest back in our community.

ANNUAL SHEEP SHOW

The 51st annual Aughrim Sheep Show and sale will take place in Carnew Mart on Friday, September 7, starting at 9 a.m. Entries forms are available from Alan Kinsella 087 2792157 or padraighea­ly4@hotmail.com. Presentati­on Cabaret will be held on the night in O’Toole’s, Aughrim at 9 p.m. Many thanks to all who supported the Commemo- rative Book. TAI CHI /QI GONG CLASSES

Learn gentle flowing healing movements that relieve stress, improve flexibilit­y and mobility. Tai Chi and Qi Gong Classes Wednesday evenings from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Aughrim Sports and Leisure Complex. Cost €80 for a block of eight classes. New block commencing Wednesday, September 5 – beginners welcome.

The numbers 1, 8, 11 and 15 drawn in the sports club lotto on Monday last August 20The jackpot was not won. Match-three winners were Gerry Keogh and Kyle and Garry. The jackpot is €2,100.
